RECIPE: Cycle-friendly breakfast smoothie with collagen

For those who don't always feel like or have the time for an elaborate breakfast, preparing one can sometimes be a challenge for some, but with this hormone-friendly breakfast smoothie, it's a nice and quick way to start your day nutritiously. Many traditional smoothies contain mainly fruit, which can cause a rapid blood sugar spike. This smoothie contains a combination of carbohydrates, healthy fats, and protein. A nice balance to start your morning off on a stable note.

What makes a green breakfast smoothie so healthy:

  • The combination of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins ensures long-lasting satiety, making this an ideal smoothie to start your day with.
  • By adding vegetables and protein powder (such as collagen), your breakfast contains essential building blocks for your body.
  • Proteins and collagen contribute to the maintenance of your muscles and bones, but also of your skin, hair, and nails.

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml almond milk
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 scoop collagen/protein powder
  • a handful of green spinach
  • 50 g frozen organic blueberries (did you know that blueberries are full of antioxidants? But that they are also one of the most sprayed types of fruit? So you should always buy organic blueberries)
  • 1/2 avocado.

Preparation:

  1. Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend the smoothie ingredients for 3 minutes.
  2. Pour into the glass jar or a tall glass. Add a straw and enjoy!
